Functions of the License Department
a. Responsible for providing licenses pertaining to shops, business establishments and dog tags
b. Responsible for leasing, operation and maintenance of parking lots, bus sheds, public toilets etc.
c. Responsible for leasing, operation and maintenance and installation of hoardings in entire Shillong Municipal area.
d. Inspecting & checking of all licensed/unlicensed shops within the entire Municipal area.
e. Maintaining records pertaining to sales of dog tickets, fireworks etc.
f. The Department also undertakes the responsibility of carrying out eviction drive as in when necessary
